PwC Singapore has entered a tie-up with local law firm Camford Law, which will see the business join PwC global network as an independent member firm.
Services provided will include corporate and commercial restructurings, entity governance and compliance, and mergers and acquisitions.
PwC Singapore executive chairman Yeoh Oon Jin said the tie-up is in response to business and legal issues of today being more and more intertwined.
"As a member firm in the PwC network, the partners of Camford Law will provide clients who appreciate the benefits of working with a global brand. It also gives Singapore businesses, and those seeking to expand outside Singapore, a wider choice and the ability to access the reach of a global professional services network," he added.
PwC said the new addition means that globally there are now over 2,400 lawyers in 80 countries in the PwC network.
PwC's move reflects the wider strategy of the Big Four to grow their legal practices globally a decade after they first embarked on building a legal offering, which most networks abandoned after the Enron scandal and the consequent collapse of Arthur Anderson and introduction of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act in the US.
In the UK, PwC Legal was given an Alternative Business Structure (ABS) licence earlier in the year, which enables the transfer of ownership of PwC Legal, a separate business until then, to PwC UK.
