PwC announced it will strengthen the ties between its UK and African practices and is ultimately looking at doubling the size of its practice in Africa as the result of increasing business relations between the UK and Africa.
A PwC UK spokesperson told the IAB: "Several hundred million dollars will be invested into Africa across the network, with direct cash investment from the UK as we see an opportunity to double the size of our African business."
The principal investments will be people and skills, he continued. According to the IAB 2014 Africa survey, PwC counted 8,715 staff in Africa in fiscal year 2013.
"The majority of new recruits in Africa will be local hires, but we will second and transfer in people and skills to help build a sustainable practice," PwC UK spokesperson said.
"PwC has some 250 employees in London who are first or second generation African, and many have expressed an interest in moving or being seconded to Africa."
