Grant Thornton International has appointed Jim Taylor as managing director of the financial management and assurance service line, within its global public sector practice.
Prior to his appointment, Taylor held the post of senior advisor to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) commissioner for the Affordable Care Act, where he managed the integration of the Act's activities within the IRS.
Before joining the IRS, he was chief financial officer at the US Department of Labour, responsible for overseeing accounting, financial management, financial systems and financial reporting activities for the 16,000-person, $120bn-budget agency.
He previously held senior management positions in the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Commerce and Federal Emergency Management Agency.
