PKF International's global rebuilding process has continued with the addition of Australian accounting and business advisory alliance Lawler to the network, which will more than double PKF's presence in Australia.
In 2012 PKF East Coast Practise and PKF's Adelaide firm joined BDO Australia, taking a large portion of PKF's total Australian revenues and staff with them.
Adding an alliance of firms to the PKF international network signals a move away from having large individual independent member firms as part of the network strategy for PKF, which has been hit by several loses of member firms around the world in the past two years.
Lawler, which has rebrand as PKF Lawler has offices located in Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Rockhampton, Tamworth and Walcha, and its addition will bring PKF Australia's revenue to over A$80m, with over 65 partners.
In the IAB Australia Survey 2013 PKF reported revenues of just A15.3m and 19 partners following loses mentioned above.
Explaining the decision to join PKF, Norm Draper, chairman of the Lawler Alliance said "The world is shrinking and as our clients' businesses grow and increasingly operate globally, our services and relationships need to keep pace."
Mike Sheehy, chairman of PKF Australia said Lawler was a "great choice," and added he was "confident of filling the vacancy in Adelaide well before the end of this year."
